Community Garden

The weather this spring has not been very cooperative and there's been a delay in opening our community gardens. This is the first year for the gardens so there's lots of prep work to be done. The field used to house horses -- obvious upon close inspection of the rather rundown fence.

Yesterday they cleared brush and other debris. And started to build the equipment shed (an Eagle Scout project). Today's job was to paint the fence so a crew could put up some chicken wire to keep some of the critters out. Then the field has to be plowed and the plots and walkways marked off. The field was very muddy today -- probably too much so for plowing.

Here are before and after painting pics. I think our plot will be on the left, up against the fence.
