Road Trip

Yesterday we took a road trip. The primary destination was Springdelle Farm in Shelburne MA, home of Foxfire Fibers, for their open house/barn. Although the rain and chilly temperatures drove us from the barn to the studio, it was so nice to talk to Barb and other sheep-shares members and to hear her ideas for the upcoming year. The yarn above is our fall yarn shares -- getting ready to ship out. I brought mine -- in the beautiful new maple sugar color -- home with me. So soft.

No trip to a farm is complete with a visit to the stars of the show. I think I must've frightened the poor ewes in the barn......if it weren't raining so hard they would've stampeded out of the barn. Instead, we got the cold shoulder! However, after waiting patiently, their curiosity got the better of them and one or two did come over for a little chin scratch.

Since we were in the area, we decided to make a side trip to the flagship Yankee Candle store. That's quite a store! Filled with candles, Christmas everything, gifts, cards, etc, etc. What did I like best? The absolutely gorgeous fall decorations -- mums and pumpkins everywhere. The grounds were fantastic!

What a wonderful road-trip!!! I love that huge Yankee Candles store. I usually can even talk my husband into browsing there, because there is so much to see. He likes the Christmas part with the toy train - and the snack bars. :)
