Finally, Finally Finished Friday

This shawl has been a long time coming. I started it in May 2008 as part of the Slow Bee I Shawl Mystery KAL (link to designer's web site). I'm definitely one of the slowest of the slow bees. There are just so many stitches (815 at the end) that it just took forever to finish each row. But finish it, I did. Originally knit in Knit Picks bare laceweight, I dyed it with Kool-Aid Tropical Punch when it was done. It's a little uneven, but I like the effect. The salmon color doesn't say cool/snow (the theme of the shawl), but to my eye, it wanted to be a bright color.

I tweaked the edging a bit and did my own picot edging.

This is probably the biggest and most complex object I've ever knit. And there were only two CATastrophes.....when a feline beauty munched through the yarn.....the worst was on the cast off edge.

It came out beautiful! It must feel good to have it all finished and ready to wear!
