Strawberry Season

It's strawberry season here. We are lucky to have a farm right across the street that has pick-your-own and (even better) pre-picked. We got our quart today......yes, it's less than a quart....but we ate some (OK, a lot) already. Tonight, we're mixing ours with Klondike ice cream bars.......so good.


The stand has always run on the honor system -- you put your money in the money box, then take the berries (or whatever produce they have out). Last year, someone stole the money box so they started using one bolted to the door. This year, they told me that people are just taking the berries without paying. So now they have to staff the stand. This is a couple with two young (elementary school age) daughters just trying to make a living. What is wrong with people?????
