Remember my Aeolian shawl? This poor thing has been through the include having a pitcher of maple syrup poured on it during its first outing.

Well, the weather's turned cooler and I got it out to wear again. But what happened? All the previously pale pink beads are now more pewter colored. They were almost invisible and now -- wow, what a contrast. I checked with others on Ravelry and the consensus is that these were metallic lined beads that tarnished over the summer. The remaining ones in the little bead vial are still pale pink. Fortunately, I don't think it looks bad -- just different. And a good lesson learned for future beading projects.

How odd! It's still really pretty though!
