Be My Valentine

How can the shortest month of the year be so long? Yesterday was a miserable day weatherwise. After blowing 3-4 inches of ice-covered snow off the driveway in the morning (good thing we did), we had heavy rain all day/evening long. Water was everywhere, making driving awful. Why do people drive through giant puddles fast? Do they like to see the tidal waves they create? Splash unlucky pedestrians? And all that water/snow/ice wreaked havoc on flat roofed buildings. It was raining in my fitness center....and since I barter services (check people in, pick up trash) for classes (one of the things you do to save $$$ when you're retired) -- I got to mop floors and place buckets for yesterday's exercise (I just might prefer tricep pushups to that.....).

At least the sun is shining today and spring is coming. Picked up the new flowers stamps at the post office. That's a sign. And here's a picture of the tree in front of our house taken last spring.......hope is on the way (is that from a song -- or is it help is on the way?).

Continuing on the theme of what are people thinking.......while knitting yesterday I was reading the back of the needle case (kind of like reading the back of the cereal box). At the bottom is a warning label:

"This needle or item should be used only for the purpose it was designed for: NEEDLE WORK. If used improperly and or by untrained persons this tool may cause bodily harm. Always use caution and store your tools in safe place inaccessible in particular to children."

I don't want to know what other uses people have found for their circular needles.

I have not seen that warning label but I guess these days everyting is a potential lawsuit.

I wish I could send you some sunshine and warm weather!
